Last week, our EWR Airport parking company brought you the best music festivals in the US. This week in our five-part blog, we’ll be exploring part two: the best art festivals around the country. Here are some of the top events throughout the year:
Old Town Art Fair
For more than 60 years, the Old Town Art Fair has been taking place in the historic Old Town Triangle District of Chicago. Every summer, around 50,000 art lovers gather to walk through the tree-lined streets and explore more than 250 nationally recognized artists. And to keep things fresh, around half of the 250 artists are new every year.
Coconut Groves Arts Festival
This Miami arts festival takes place every year during Presidents Day Weekend and has everything from visual arts to culinary arts to performing arts and more. The festival has been around for more than 50 years and is considered South Florida’s most successful arts festival, attracting more than 120,000 people annually.
La Quinta Arts Festival
This four-day March festival in La Quinta, California has been ranked the #1 Fine Art Festival in the nation by Art Fair SourceBook. Every year, over 1,000 artists from all over the world apply to be part of the festival, but only around 200 are chosen. Visitors can enjoy art in nearly every medium along with live entertainment, wine, and beer.
Cherry Creek Arts Festival
For three days every July 4th weekend, Denver’s Cherry Creek North transforms into a world-class arts festival attended by more than 350,000 people. Considered the signature cultural event in Colorado, this arts festival kicks off with a beer garden concert and features a variety of culinary arts, visual arts, family activities, and more.
Summer Art Fair
The Summer Art Fair in Ann Arbor is one of four fairs (grouped with the Street Art Fair, State Street Art Fair, and the South University Art Fair) that make up an award-winning annual event that takes place every summer. The Summer Art Fair is the fine arts portion that attracts nearly 500,000 people and features around 375 artist booth, art demonstrations, and special guests.
Des Moines Arts Festival
This award-winning arts festival takes place every year in June in Des Moines, Iowa. The festival features performing arts, visual arts, interactive arts, culinary arts, and music from renowned artists. It also features the Interrobang Film Festival, which screens various feature, mid, and short films throughout the three-day festival.
Bayou City Art Festival
Every year, around 30,000 people gather in Houston for a three-day art festival in Houston’s Memorial Park. In addition to nationally and internationally recognized artists, visitors can discover an array of young, budding artists at the Student Art Park and enjoy fine arts ranging from clay, glass, metal, paint, and more.
Art Fair on the Square
Each year, Wisconsin’s Madison Museum of Contemporary Art hosts an outdoor art festival called Art Fair on the Square. The festival takes place in the city’s Capitol Square and in addition to more than 450 artists, features music, dining, and entertainment for its 200,000 visitors.
Columbus Arts Festival
This Ohio arts festival takes place every summer at the city’s downtown Riverfront, which is transformed into an art gallery that features more than 300 nationally acclaimed artists. The three-day festival features concerts, theater performances, dances, hands-on activities, and fare from restaurants all over the Columbus area.
