Now that daytime temperatures are above freezing and you can actually leave the house without your winter boots, you’re probably itching to take a spring trip – but to where? At our EWR Airport parking company, we love to travel, so here are some suggestions from our members:
Niagara Falls, Canada
Niagara Falls is one of the most common destinations for summer travel, so why not skip the crowds and head to the natural wonder during the spring? You’ll find deeper discounts on hotel rooms and flights, and don’t miss the thousands of tulips, daffodils, lilacs, and more throughout the city.
Casablanca Valley, Chile
If you’re a wine-lover, this region outside of Santiago is the perfect place to visit in the spring (even though April and May begin Chile’s fall months). Wine grapes are harvested at the end of March, so you’ll have your pick of fresh wine to sample and plenty of wineries to tour.
Vancouver, British Columbia
Spring peaks in April in Vancouver, so take a trip north during that time and you’ll be surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees in bloom as well as spring festivals, whale watching, gorgeous architecture, and plenty of seasonal shopping.
Paris, France
Head to France during the springtime and you can watch the city of love and lights awaken. You’ll find lots of local markets, outdoor cafes, and street-side vendors emerge while you stroll through streets of centuries-old architecture and gardens in bloom.
Boston, Massachusetts
Our EWR Airport parking company suggests heading to Boston during the third weekend in April, which is deemed Patriots’ Day Weekend. It commemorates the first battle of the Revolutionary War with events like the Boston Marathon, swan boat rides through the public garden, and a reenactment of the battle.
Athens, Greece
Head to Athens in the springtime and you’ll not only find plenty of sunshine, wildflowers, and warm temperatures, but you’ll also enjoy a lack of crowds during the city’s off-season. Spring and fall offer lower prices and with so much to see, you’ll be able to afford a longer visit.
Fredericksburg, Texas
Get yourself a dose of Southern hospitality in Fredericksburg. Every spring, the small city bursts into bloom with bluebonnets all over the place. They also host the Hill Country Wine and Music Festival and the Becker Vineyards Lavender Festival in April; come May, you’ll find the start of peach season.
Tokyo, Japan
Head to Tokyo before the end of April and you’ll be enveloped by famed Japanese cherry blossoms. Several festivals take place during this time to celebrate the blooms. Plus, spring is considered strawberry season and clam-digging season throughout the city.
